I have just released my first CD About Time - a
collection of pieces that represent some of the musicians who have
inspired me to love making music. Tommy Emmanuel, Sting, Bach, Paco Peña
and Django Reinhardt. It covers many styles, including classical,
jazz, flamenco, folk, popular music and gypsy Jazz.
I envisaged this CD
to be enjoyed with a glass of wine as the listener exhales at the end of
the day - I hope you enjoy!

El Noi De La
Mare - Catalan Folk Song, Arr. Miguel Llobet
The folk song El Noi De La Mare originated from the small island of
Catalonia, off the coast of Spain, and has been tastefully arranged for solo
guitar by the 19th century Spanish guitarist Miguel Llobet. I feel that the song represents one of the
things I love about the classical guitar -- the capacity to sustain a beautiful
melody whilst providing its own accompaniment.

Herencia
Latina Rumba, Paco Pena, Arr. Steve Allen
Paco Peña is one of the key
Spanish players to deliver the flamenco guitar as a solo instrument, separating
it from the traditional flamenco troupe of dancers, singers, cajon and of
course guitar! His ability to present the traditional dance forms with their
intricate rhythmic patterns and complex overall structures is legendary.
Originally for solo guitar, this Rumba has been arranged for 2 guitars, double
bass and cajon.
